The Mike McGinn Report Card

This is what we know about Mayor McGinn and the Lowman Beach Park recreational and residential area. This page is a work-in-progress. Feel free to rate him or add comments.

As a preliminary assessment, however, it appears the Mayor McGinn must have had notice of the threat of eminent domain being used to purchase and destroy Seattle City residential property and dislocate 30 renters and remove, forever, from the inventory of rental properties, an endangered species — parkfront, Soundfront rental property.  Also, remove, forever, the property tax those properties contributed to the tax base (King County won’t be taxed for the property).

So, Mayor McGinn has, as far as we know, not weighed in on any of the controversial processes being utilized in this matter to “railroad” this neighborhood, with virtually nothing in return.  “Pain with no gain.”  That could be his motto, I suppose, until proven otherwise.

Mayor McGinn has flunked until proven otherwise.
